About
CEO, Taqiyah Gibbons
Taqiyah Gibbons is a travel advisor and advocate for cultural exploration. Growing up in a low-income household, Taqiyah didn’t have many opportunities to travel, but she made the most of annual road trips to visit family in South Carolina and explored multiple states throughout her childhood. She didn’t board her first flight until she was 16 and didn’t get her first passport stamp until the age of 21—both experiences made possible through scholarships.

With only 7 years of international travel experience, Taqiyah has since visited South Africa, Kenya, Rwanda, England, Mexico, The Bahamas, France, Aruba, Curacao, Panama, Costa Rica, Colombia, Turks and Caicos, Puerto Rico, St. Croix, and St. Thomas—each journey expanding her understanding of the world and its diverse cultures. These transformative travel experiences inspired her to create NOIA Journey, her way of paying it forward and helping others experience the world too.
NOIA Journey was inspired by the word metanoia, which means the journey of transforming one’s life. This year, Taqiyah realized that metanoia also translates to repentance, symbolizing a deeper journey of change. When she founded this organization, she did so with complete faith, knowing that the blueprint for this business was designed by God.
